Dividends Payout and Earnings Predictability: Evidence from a Developing Country

This study investigates the relation between dividends payout and earnings predictability of firms listed on Egyptian Stock Exchange as an emerging African market. We depend a sample stock exchange (EGX100) during 2014-2018. To test hypotheses, we use two independent t-test OLS regression. The principal analysis revealed that improves ability current to forecast firms’ future earnings. Results also indicated could enhance one year-ahead cash flow. best our knowledge, this is first examines implications in findings present new insights investors, researchers, regulators concerned with agency conflicts interest within firm. It presents evidence potential alternative mechanisms for decreasing costs markets.
